A small thought on Choice: Just take a minute to think of one person of whom sex and sexuality is not a part of this persons’ life? You are having a hard time imagining such a person, are you? Let’s face it: whether you live in a slum area in India, somewhere deep in the forest in Brazil or as a porn star in Hollywood, sex and sexuality is part of everybody’s life. This part of life is not always the most enjoyable part though. Especially when you are a young, sexuality is surrounded by taboos, misinformation, uncertainty, pressure and disillusions. Sometimes, it even has deadly consequences like maternal death, AIDS, violence or unsafe abortions. That’s why I think enabling everyone to express their sexuality in a free, safe and enjoyable way is one step closer to well-being for all. That’s worth fighting for and that’s why I joined CHOICE.
