Every year in September the CHOICE Youth Advocates gather in a recluse place in The Netherlands to kick off a new season. The advocates discuss and assess everything that has been done from September till August the year before and they set the goals and strategy for the upcoming season. As CHOICE had plenty to celebrate this year, this event took place in quite a festive mood.
The previous season saw, amongst other things, the CHOICE advocates giving trainings in Indonesia and Kenya; advocating at the Commission on Population and Development; launching the YOU(TH) DO IT Campaign with ARI Indonesia and dance4life; and setting up an ICPD Partnership between dance4life, CHOICE and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year CHOICE will again focus on the process towards the International Conference on Population and Development 2014 with our advocacy efforts. In our International Capacity Building program CHOICE will go to Ethiopia to choose a new partner to work with and the advocates will go to countries such as Indonesia and Malawi to give trainings to our partner organizations ARI and YECE. We will of course keep you posted about all these activities and all the other things we will do this year!
