On the 10th and 11th of October, the Youth Advocates Merel May Heilmann (General Board Member) and Marrieke van Oversteeg went to Brussels for the EuroNGOs. The EuroNGOs is a yearly conference of European NGOs who are working in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. This year the conference was called ‘Sexual and reproductive health and rights in the next global framework. Promoting a critical dialogue’.

On the evening of 10th of October there was a pre-conference reception with photographs of Wendy Marijnissen. This reception was organized by Sensoa and the EuroNGOs and was called ‘True to life. Intimate encounters with women from Pakistan and Afghanistan’. Here we already met some of the participants of the conference and enjoyed some drinks and the beautiful and impressive photographs.

On the 11th of October the EuroNGOs conference started at 9 am with the opening word by Ann Svensén, the chair of EuroNGOs. The conference was mainly focusing on the post-2015 development framework. Through several panel sessions there was a lot of information shared about the current SRHR situation in different parts of the world, and about the different parallel processes that are going on in achieving a next development framework. One of the outcomes of the conference is that SRHR NGOs need to strengthen their common voice, in order to make sure that SRHR is part of the next global development framework!
