Young people advocating for sexual and reproductive health and rights at the United Nations High Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS

During the High Level Meeting (HLM) on HIV/AIDS, June 8 - June 10, CHOICE was represented by Nathalia Pereira Vredeveld and Laura Lasance. As members of the official government delegation of the Netherlands, Nathalia and Laura advised the delegation on issues concerning sexual and reproductive rights and youth matters.

Nathalia and Laura were fully involved in the negotiation process leading up to the HLM on HIV/AIDS. CHOICE has put in all efforts to secure strong youth friendly texts on sexual and reproductive health and rights in the outcome document, and in the national statements made during the event.

As youth representatives at the HLM, CHOICE also participated at the youth caucus on June 7, where young key leaders in the fight against HIV/AIDS strategized together on advocacy messages and national follow-up strategies. We have to work together to hold our national governments accountable to the commitments made!
