CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality (CHOICE) is a professional youth-led organization that advocates for the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of young people globally. We firmly believe that young people should be able to make informed and personal decisions regarding their sexuality, love and relationships. Moreover, it is our core conviction that young people should participate meaningfully in decisions, policies and programs that affect their lives, in particular related to their sexuality.


CHOICE is looking for a:


TREASURER OF THE BOARD (8-12 hours p/w)


The board is the governing body of CHOICE and has the final responsibility over the organization development, execution, continuity and monitoring of the long-term strategic plan. The duration of this position will be until September 2020. The board shares the vision of CHOICE and carries this vision out, both

externally and internally. As the Treasurer of the Board you:


  • Are responsible for the financial wellbeing of CHOICE,
  • oversee the budget making process,
  • work closely with the Chair on several topics, such as human resources and salaries,
  • are the lead on matters regarding insurances, pensions etc.,
  • work closely with the executive director and financial controller on a variety of topics,
  • manage the year report,
  • supervise the audits.

As a board member you have the chance to grow professionally and build a strong network. CHOICE provides the treasurer with a training budget to develop or strengthen competences. A board member receives a small compensation and is reimbursed for the expenses that they make for CHOICE-related activities.

As a board member you fully support the charter of CHOICE and you see young people/volunteers as equal partners. You fit well into our team and have a college/academic level of working and thinking. You have ambitions for yourself and the organization and are motivated to help CHOICE grow with your efforts and ideas.


Knowledge of HR management and administration is considered as an advantage.


Furthermore, we will be looking for the following key competencies:


  • Leadership skills,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Stress-resilient,
  • Team-player, but able to work independently,
  • Flexible (willing to work in evenings and weekends),
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, spoken and written.
