READNo SRHR without HIV Services: Championing Integrated Youth-Friendly HIV Service
Happy International human rights day! Today marks the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights. On this special day, we want to call your attention to one of the most fundamental rights: the right to health. At CHOICE for Youth and Sexuality (CHOICE), we believe that young people deserve a healthy and happy future. To ensure this, it is crucial that young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are secured. However, we believe that this is impossible without an integrated and comprehensive approach to youth-friendly SRHR and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) health services.

CHOICE demands for the Dutch government to eradicate the mandatory 5-day waiting time period in abortion procedures! Choice believes that the waiting time period, in its current form, might be likely to increase emotional and psychological distress, as well as adding to the stigma surrounding abortion! We believe that womxn have the right to exercise their bodily autonomy!

In February, the Youth Advocates from the National Advocacy Group at CHOICE were asked to deliver a pitch at the launch of the World Population Report. They were asked to do this by Rutgers, the leading centre of expertise on SRHR in the Netherlands who were responsible for the launch of this report.
