Youth Champions for Feminist Futures

Youth Champions for Feminist Futures

Press Releases
March 20, 2021

We are beyond excited to announce that we are a grantee of the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation in light of their Youth Champions for Feminist Futures project. Choice will be working with youth activists from the South Asia region to advance gender equality.

In 2019, young people between 15 and 24 years compromised 1.2 billion of the worlds population, with the number being expected to reach 1.3 billion by 2030. This means our work concerns 1 in 6 people worldwide!

If we want to continue making progress, and if we want to continue setting a new agenda concerning sexual and reproductive health and rights, young peoples needs and wishes need to be heard and investments into our health need to be made.

The Generation Equality Forum will be a global gathering based on the belief that in order for progress to be possible, young leaders and activist need to have the opportunity to meaningfully engage with world leaders. Youth-led advocacy and accountability work will be supported to push for gender equality with our needs, demands and perspectives being centred and Choice will be part of it!

This is a huge opportunity for power to be shifted to us, young people, and for us to make our demands and perspectives heard.

We will be able to add Meaningful Youth Participation and Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights to the agenda.
